New EDD, BuddyBoss and BuddyPress tokens

Today’s Uncanny Automator 3.8.1 release was a minor update, but it did include over 20 new triggers and so probably deserves a bit of a mention.

Einfache digitale Downloads

We recently added new WooCommerce tokens to effectively let you build your own order summary emails (and pass all of that data to other systems and plugins), so it was time to make a lot more data available for EDD orders too. Today’s release added the following Easy Digital Downloads order tokens:

  • Zwischensumme der Bestellung
  • Steuer bestellen
  • Gesamtbetrag der Bestellung
  • Bestellrabatte
  • Verwendete Rabattcodes
  • License key (when Software Licensing is used)
  • Zahlungsmethode

Here’s a sample:

This makes it a lot easier to pass all order details to service like Google Sheets or Knack for external reporting and analysis.

BuddyBoss and BuddyPress

We had some recent custom feedback that some of our friendship and follower triggers weren’t useful enough because they could only pass data related to the user initiating the recipe. In other words, for something like the “A user accepts a friendship request” trigger, we could pass information about who accepted the request, but not who it was from. We agreed that it would be useful to have information about both parties for friendship and follower triggers.

As such, the following tokens have been added to related triggers for both BuddyPress and BuddyBoss integrations:

  • Friend first name
  • Friend last name
  • Friend email
  • Friend ID
  • Follower first name
  • Follower last name
  • Follower email
  • Follower ID

And in other news, the release adds compatibility fixes for WP LMS. They made some major architectural changes recently that required us to add a way to support both 3.x and 4.x versions.
