Thanks to some fantastic new videos from WP Crafter, the Uncanny Automator Pro userbase has grown a lot in September. We want to keep things exciting for all of our new users, so today’s release of Uncanny Automator Pro 2.7 adds some great new triggers and actions. Let’s jump right in to what’s new.
Perhaps the most exciting new addition, Automator recipes can now include this powerful new action: Send a Certificate. Yes, we might have just cost ourselves some sales of our Toolkit Pro plugin, but this action was just too powerful to leave out. With this new action, you can issue LearnDash certificates for anything: completing a series of courses, finishing a lesson, attending a live event (we see requests for that all the time!), submitting a form, etc.
Here’s how it works:
That’s it. On the LearnDash side, what’s important are the certificate name and featured image; the text that gets overlaid is added in the recipe.
The Automator Pro 2.7 release adds these premium triggers for MyCred:
For sites that rely on MyCred for gamification features and points, we know these triggers will be extremely useful. Common use cases might include changing membership level when a rank is earned or adding the user to a course when a point balance is achieved.
It was time for Fluent Forms to each feature parity with some of our other form plugin integrations. Here’s what’s now included in Pro 2.7:
It’s the anonymous trigger that we’ve had the most requests for, and it means that now we can create users and map anonymous form submissions to existing users.
Our Give plugin integration gets a lot more interesting in this release. This is what’s new:
These are all very useful, but we expect the last trigger to get the most use. Now large donors can be rewarded with additional course access, membership levels, invitations to Zoom events for major donors, etc.
We added one new trigger for WooCommerce that came up specifically because of some gaps identified by new WP Crafter users. Automator Pro 2.7 adds A guest order’s status changes to a specific status, which will address some situations where an order cannot (or should not) be autocompleted at the time of purchase. It was a great suggestion from users and we’re excited to be able to turn this trigger request around quickly.
Paid Memberships Pro gets a new “A user renews an expired membership” trigger and Formidable Forms includes a new “A user updates an entry in a form trigger”. For users that need them, both triggers open up a lot of automation opportunities.
We have also made some important updates for Tutor LMS and sites that update user profiles as an action. For Tutor LMS users, you must update to Automator Pro 2.7 to maintain compatibility with the latest version of that plugin. We don’t often see plugin developers break compatibility like this, but we know the code changes they made are important and improve the quality of the plugin. They do unfortunately break recipes with the previous version of Automator.
And for role changes, we made the default role in the “Update a user action” in WordPress core default to “No change” in the role drop-down. This should help to avoid unintended role changes when users are updated. We have no reports of this actually happening and we haven’t had complains, we were just worried that someone might miss the field when setting up recipes.
The complete changelog is available at http://staging.automatorplugin.com/knowledge-base/uncanny-automator-pro-changelog/. We appreciate all the feedback we’ve received that allowed us to correct a handful of issues and choose which new triggers and actions to support. The pipeline is still chock full of new triggers, actions and integrations so keep an eye on this space!
