The Automator Beta Starts This Week!

Beta participants will be contacted this week with instructions about using Uncanny Automator 0.1 on test sites. It’s an exciting milestone, because after 1,000 hours of development and 6 months, we’re finally close to release.

Beta users are reminded that this plugin should be used on test sites only and that the plugin may still change significantly for the final release. And, while Automator itself will be released as 2 plugins (a free version in the WordPress repository and Pro version from this site), the plugin is more of a hybrid version.

Over the next few weeks we will be soliciting feedback from our beta users, releasing new beta versions (probably about 1 per week), and pushing hard to get ourselves ready for the public release. We will accept more users into the beta program as time goes on, so if you missed the initial sign-ups last week you can still apply at http://staging.automatorplugin.com/beta-application/. Please keep in mind that we are looking for users with some LearnDash experience that can test this on a development or staging site only. The plugin is just not safe to be used in live environments yet.

Participation in the beta is the best way to learn more about what the plugin can do right now and to have access to the Uncanny Owl team to provide feedback and submit plugin requests. We’re especially interested in nailing down our launch list of plugins and their associated triggers and actions. We won’t get to everything in time for launch, but we do want to target about 100 triggers and actions combined.

Even if you can’t participate in the beta, we strongly encourage anyone interested in what we’re doing with Automator to sign up for the mailing list and starting following us on social media. We have very, very exciting things in store over the next few weeks.
