Uncanny Automator 6.4 introduces Facebook Lead Ads, Bluesky, and tons of powerful new triggers and…
New integrations: GetResponse and SliceWP
Uncanny Automator 5.7 is out! This update to our free no-code automation plugin for WordPress adds several new integrations and features, as well as a rebuild of an existing integration.
GetResponse
A popular email marketing platform, GetResponse makes it easy to send email newsletters, campaigns, surveys and more. This new integration for Uncanny Automator adds 2 new actions:
- Create or update a contact
- Remove a contact
With this new support, you might create a new contact in GetResponse and add profile details when a user completes a purchase, or perhaps remove a contact when a refund is processed for a user.
SliceWP
A popular affiliate marketing plugin for WordPress, SliceWP supports features like commission tracking, paying, reporting and more. The integration introduce in Automator 5.7 adds 3 new triggers and 1 action:
- Trigger: A new affiliate is awaiting approval
- Trigger: A user becomes an affiliate
- Trigger: An affiliate is approved
- Action: Add a new affiliate
Perhaps when an affiliate is waiting for approval the status is shared internally in a Slack channel, and after approval the user is tagged in Groundhogg to begin an onboarding campaign. With the new action, perhaps a Formidable Form registration form is used to also add a new affiliate.
Bitly
While Automator did previously have a Bitly integration, it had dependencies on an official Bitly plugin that was removed from WordPress.org. Once it became clear it wouldn’t be reinstated in the near future, we decided to rebuild the integration to connect directly to Bitly instead of having any other plugin dependencies.
If you previously used our Bitly integration, please consider switching to the new integration ASAP. As the previous Bitly plugin was removed for security reasons, it’s a good idea to remove it from your site (at least until the security issues are addressed and the plugin is reinstated to .org).
Easy Digital Downloads
Our EDD integration gets 2 new logged-in triggers for the Software Licensing addon:
- A user’s license for a download is created
- A user’s license for a download expires
Perhaps when a license is created then the user is enrolled in an onboarding course, and when a license expires then a winback campaign is initiated in a CRM via a new tag.
Other Automator improvements
If you’re a Google Sheets user, Uncanny Automator 5.7 features a rebuilt “Update a row” action that now supports sending failed actions to Google Sheets. In earlier versions, the action had to send 2 calls to Google Sheets, and if the first one failed, there wouldn’t be data available to allow resending values. The updated action uses a single call only, allowing all such actions to be resent if there’s an issue.
Outgoing Webhook actions gain support for PATCH and OPTIONS request types. This improves flexibility and allows new use cases for advanced webhook users.
To help with recipes that are stuck “In Progress” for a reason other than a delay, there’s new behaviour that will mark these recipes as failures so that they don’t stay “In Progress” indefinitely. These stuck recipes could occur because of fatal errors from other plugins when a recipe ran, a required plugin not being active when an action was supposed to run, etc.
For OpenAI users, there’s a new automator_openai_chat_generate_should_sanitize_fields filter that can be used to enable or disable field sanitization.
That covers the highlights of the free Uncanny Automator 5.7 release, but make sure to visit the changelog for a full list of updates.
